Event planners Jenn Pablo and Olivia Korenberg of Twofold LA combined forces with bride-to-be Liz Cherkasova, the free spirited fashionista behind Late Afternoon, to craft wedding inspiration that is decidedly luxe, delightfully whimsical, and quintessentially Californian.
Variegated lemons, kumquat branches, and sliced blood oranges bring a touch of the unexpected to the citrus-infused table decor. Liz loves to punctuate color against a foundation of black or white, and this color inspiration can be found in the elegant tablescapes.
On the dessert table, citrus arrangements sit atop a creamy white table cloth and a sumptuous white cake (from Haute Chefs LA) is sparingly decorated with pastel blooms and a handful of deep orange kumquats. The simple white cloth on our beverage table amplifies a lush green garland and oversized blooms. Karla Lim’s beautiful calligraphy elevates vintage terra cotta tiles to artful menus and table numbers, highlighting our venue’s saltillo tile floors and bringing a lush earthiness to our tablescapes.
Lately, Liz has been coveting….
A true free spirit, Liz dreams of finding the perfect vintage gown and getting married “in the middle of a meadow or on a distant beach.” Flower crowns and pastel hues are favorites, and will undoubtedly influence her day-of bridal style.
Late Afternoon’s Call For A Glass Full of Summer
The Classic Lillet
– 2 part Chilled Dry Champagne
– 1 part Chilled Lillet Blanc
– Fresh Orange Rinds
Twist orange rinds over the Champagne and Lillet to get the citrus essence, then drop rinds into the bubbly for an easy garnish. Your guests will love the subtle citrus and honey notes in this refreshing cocktail.
“I experimented with three Monique Lhuillier dresses that had a lot of traditional elements mixed with bohemian touches. To my surprise, my favorite ended up being the simple white gown. It was a very unexpected choice for me, but it fit beautifully and made me feel like I could spend all night dancing under the stars.” – Liz
