Benvenuti a Cortina d’Ampezzo! This past January I had the great pleasure of traveling to the Dolomites with event designers Clara Boatto and Eva Trevisan, of Chic Weddings Italy, for an unforgettable winter wonder experience in the posh town of Cortina.
The luxurious ski resort is nestled within the famous Italian mountain range just north of Venice. Crisp mountain air, snowcapped peaks, blankets of rolling evergreen trees and spectacular views of chic chalet landscapes delight at every turn. #myheartsaflutter
Sitting pretty on the hillside, overlooking Cortina and the Tofane Mountains, is SanBrite – a gourmet family-owned farm-to-table restaurant. Adjacent is Piccolo Brite, an artisanal cheese shop with a selection of beautifully delicious goods all made with the freshest ingredients from the family’s dairy farm just up the road. It’s here at SanBrite, surrounded by mountainous beauty and a heart-fluttering chalet aesthetic, that we gathered with a brilliant team of creatives to bring this wintry alfresco gathering to life.
Within Nature’s Element
Nature’s frosty palette of powdery white, soft evergreen and nutty mushroom brown guided the aesthetic. Veronica Halim, of Truffy Pi, designed the prettiest handmade paper menus and wooden place cards that paired perfectly with the surrounding landscape. The sweet Carolina, of Oui Fleurs, crafted one-of-a-kind floral moments around the property incorporating a variety of textures with both dried and velvety soft flora including branches of cotton, pampas grass, dusty miller, lambs ear, spiral eucalyptus, and ranunculus among other foraged elements.
A Snow Queen’s Dream
Ciao bella! Cortina is a snow queen’s dream in a winter wonderland. Our queen was dressed in a flowy tulle Rime Arodaky gown that danced with the wind. Cozy accessories from Marinotti Cortina accented the chic mountain look.
The frosty table was set with a white plastered tablecloth, white cutlery, white plates and white flowers. Oui Fleurs strung garlands of flowers from the pergola above. The hills were truly alive at SanBrite!
To top it off, Origami Videography captured beautiful footage of the essence of our snowy day in Cortina. Watch below!
