Do: Ride a camel through the Sahara Desert.
Stay: In a riad in Medina.
Sip: On the world’s best OJ from one of the colorful stalls in Jemaa el-Fna.
Get Lost: Wandering (and shopping) through a souk.
Scrub Down: And refresh at a hammam – a traditional steam bath and massage. It’s like a Morrocan right of passage! You’ll find there are both local and luxury hammams so do your research ahead of time to find the one most soothing to your soul.
Kurt’s Travel Tip: Start your trip by flying into Tangier and taking a train south to Chefchaouen. The train ride was amazing and allowed me to see much of the beautiful and open scenery. Chefchaouen is one of the most unique towns I have ever seen. The entire place is painted in a pale blue; the buildings and even the streets. This is a place truly devoid of Western culture which makes it a perfect place to get away.
