In Floral Abundance

The first time I came across floral designer Kiana Underwood of Tulipina my heart skipped a beat. Her designs completely captivated me in their opulence and explosion of color. She immediately went on my wish list of artists to conspire with. Thirteen months and one trip to San Francisco later, the stars aligned for our flowering cover story with photographer KT Merry.

Finally having the opportunity to meet and work alongside Kiana only further solidified my passion for her passion. Every single detail down to the last and littlest bud is carefully curated and thoughtfully positioned in every arrangement. It was like watching a painter take to a blank canvas layer by layer, stroke by stroke. I cannot wait for you to see her inspirations for the new year of bride.

Flowers are at the forefront of this issue, and for good reason! The colorful bursts of nature are inspiring our every vision of wedded beauty for 2017, from your hairstyle (p. 11) to your welcome gathering (p. 39) to bouquets and boutonnieres that will take your breath away (p. 86).

This issue is also very close to my heart as it features my wedding (p. 75)! Woohoo! This past October Tyson and I got married at Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, California. It’s our fairytale affair and it’s filled with enchanting beauty from my dear friends Amy Osaba and Joy Proctor. This dream planner-floral duo, alongside a small army of incredible vendors, designed our most heart-fluttering day and I’m so thrilled to share it with you.

As we look forward to 2017, we have lots in store for another year of colorful collaborations, trend setting inspiration, and swoon worthy real weddings that are sure to set your heart aflutter!
