Poppies, Ranunculus, Sweet Pea, oh my! Garden Roses, Pieris, Hellebore, Anemone, Clematis… #myheartsaflutter!
I knew I wanted my day to be draped in florals. From an aisle lined with growing poppies and ranunculus to a reception dinner dripping in romantic flora, my fairytale was complete all thanks to my dream team, Amy Osaba + Joy Proctor.
The color palette was drawn from a reflection of my style through and through (I LOVE color!) – with warm watermelon, coral, and sunset tones paired against taupes and creams as a nod to my engagement in Tuscany. A big thank you to Florabundance and Rose Story Farm for the most heart-fluttering flowers you are about to swoon over!
For the ceremony, Amy brought my vision of a poppy-lined aisle to life with Icelandic poppies and ranunculus whimsically and wildly growing out of the ground. To add to the botanical fairytale theme, we placed antique glass boxes from La Rousse Shoppe filled with two live painted lady butterflies on each guest chair. Susan Silverberg calligraphed hang tags that read ‘At first kiss, release and set your heart aflutter.’ Upon pronouncement, it was the perfect heart-fluttering celebration of our love.
Bouquet Breakdown
Amy crafted my heart-fluttering bouquet with Japanese Anemones, Garden Roses, Sweet Pea, Hellebores, Lisianthus, Clematis, Snowberry, and Italian Ruscus. It was tied with the prettiest champagne ribbon from Silk & Willow. And, how about these darling boutonnieres?!
Making their way to the reception, guests were invited to find their seating assignments in drawers of an antique dresser which had been filled with moss and flowers.
For the reception, Tyson and I wanted to share an al fresco dining experience with our guests. To create an intimate environment we built a beautiful structure draped in taupe fabric over two rows of dining tables (thank you Bella Vista Designs!). Florals and greenery grew up the structure organically, while Tuscan style chandeliers hung down the center. Linen chairs and wooden tables from Revelry Event Design added to the Tuscan feel, while artisanal breads, olive oil, fruits and flowers created for a lush, edible tabletop. Menus personalized with each guests names were placed atop ceramic plates handmade in Europe from The Ark.
From Joy’s initial download of my brain to Amy’s refined watercolor concept, the idea of this magical reception was brought to life!
I still can’t believe that one year ago this was all for us. I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude, appreciation, and love to all of the amazing vendors who came together to make this dream a reality that we’ll forever cherish.
