A Very Flutter Wedding: Welcome Gathering

Editor Musings· Wedding

1 Oct

Hi friends! Flutter founder Kim here. One year ago Tyson and I were off getting hitched in Santa Barbara’s wine country. I can hardly believe it’s our first anniversary! To commemorate, we’ll be sharing all the heart-fluttering details of our wedding celebrations all week, starting with our intimate welcome gathering.

In lieu of a traditional rehearsal dinner, Tyson and I hosted a welcome gathering at the historic Mattei’s Tavern in the town of Los Olivos. It was a perfectly intimate setting where our family and friends, who had traveled from all across the States, could relax, enjoy good food and wine, and revel in the beauty of one of our most favorite places. My dear friend and photographer Michelle Beller truly captured the essence of the evening.

Guests were greeted with a handcrafted ‘welcome to our happily ever after’ sign by local calligrapher Susan Silverberg along with an assortment of wines and beers from local vineyards and breweries. How darling is that trailer?

Local Santa Ynez Valley singer/guitarist Ray Fortune captivated guests with each melody, inviting them to soak up every essence of our wonderland. I can’t sing his praises enough! Ray also sang during the ceremony and cocktail hour of our wedding.

Since the main restaurant at Mattei’s is currently closed for renovations, we had Chef Giorgio Curti of Amaranto Catering come and create the most delightful family-style meal complete with decadent charcuterie and cheese, wood-fired pizzas, farm fresh salads, and the most tasty Spanish paella.
