There’s something so fun about receiving a surprise package in the mail. Your heart races in excitement to see what’s inside and to see who it’s from!
Last Friday I got to experience just this as I came home to a rather large square box on my doorstep. I quickly opened the door and the box to find a sweet floral surprise nestled inside. I just had to share it with you!
Inside the large box were multiple smaller boxes containing sweet confections. What were they? The components of a decadently fun, semi-DIY Flower Pot Cake from Made in Heaven Cakes. I say semi because the beautiful, fondant-covered, floral-embellished base cake was one of those packaged confections, and, thank goodness, it was already made to perfection!
I proceeded to open the other boxes that contained darling sugar flowers and chocolate crumbles- aka ‘the dirt.’ I immediately assembled my cake, nibbling on bits of soil in between, and voila! My flower pot cake was complete and ready to eat. To my surprise it was perfectly moist and quite divine, even through its somewhat 3,000 miles of travels.
You can order one of these blooming edible arrangements and have it delivered to yourself or someone special. Each month they release new in-season edible florals.
How it works: Visit the Made in Heaven Cakes website. Choose the seasonal flowers of your choice: currently tulips, calla lilies and orchids. Next, choose from vanilla, chocolate or red velvet as your base cake. Last, choose from a variety of fillings and send! The package will come complete with your base cake, a packet of dirt (aka chocolate crumbles) and a box of edible blooms (note: the stems are not edible). It really is that simple to sweeten someones day!
Thank you Made in Heaven Cakes for making my 30th birthday week all that sweeter!
